Tickets available for Olympic concert
Date Posted: 26th Mar
Excitement is building for the Olympic Torch Relay Concert at Queen’s Park in Bolton – and YOU can still be part of Olympic history – right here on your doorstep.
The Torch comes to Bolton on May 31 and the town is one of only 66 venues across the country to host the flame overnight. Many tickets have already gone for the event and more are still available – but you’ll have to be quick.
All ‘overnight stops’ play host to a spectacular evening concert. Bolton’s concert will be at Spa Road Playing Fields in Queen’s Park from 5pm to 7.30pm (gates open at 4pm) and is held in partnership with Samsung, Lloyds TSB and Coca Cola.
As well as a light and sound spectacular and a yet-to-be-named headline act, the event also features a line-up of local entertainment. All performers are due to be announced soon by the London Olympics Organising Committee and the national sponsors.
There’s still time to get free tickets if you haven’t done so already, but don’t wait too long, as places are limited. To apply click the link on the right hand side or collect a paper form available at the Town Hall One Stop Shop; local leisure centres; libraries and area offices.
Households will be allowed up to four tickets. You must be aged 16 or over to apply and anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Those successful will be informed shortly, and tickets need to be collected in person from April 30 to May 7. Residents will need proof of address and identity to pick up tickets.
