Free parking in town

Bolton Council has agreed to implement a new free parking initiative in the town centre from the end of May, to boost high street trade.

This new initiative follows a massively popular free parking offer during Christmas 2012, which ran on weekdays after 3pm and all day Saturday and Sunday at four of the multi-storey car parks.

Development moves forward at Bolton Market

Work has begun on transforming the indoor market hall at Bolton Market as part of a £4.5 million redevelopment.

Contractor Willmott Dixon has started to strip out the old market stalls within the East Hall, which was occupied by non-food traders.

Work will also commence this week on refurbishing the hall’s roof.

Royal visit to flagship facility

The Princess Royal has officially opened the £30m flagship health, leisure and research centre, Bolton One.
